Managing Director

Michael Butler is a serial entrepreneur, with a background in marketing, advertising and financial markets. He started life as a commodities trader on the London Fox, before moving into marketing roles in Australia. Since then he has worked on significant brands including the iconic World Vision Child Sponsorship during the late ’90s when the brand saw stellar growth, Canon business, Suncorp and many others.

Michael is also the founder and MD of Strategic Specialists Group, home to Strategic Finance Specialists, Marketing Director Centre and Sales Director Centre. Our top-flight experts are transforming businesses for the better across Australia and New Zealand.

Matthew is a CFO and business management professional with a history of driving commercial outcomes for organisations ranging from SMBs through to large corporations. Matthew’s experience includes financial management, general management, business improvement and driving financial turnaround, both in Australia and the UK. With nearly two decades in accounting, Matthew combines a hands-on approach and high level business acumen to implement strategic improvement for clients. Matthew utilises his experience in manufacturing as the basis for his approach to costing, planning and operational processes to ensure tight financial control.

Max Vigne

CFO - Sydney

Max Vigne is a qualified Chartered Accountant and CFO with diverse experience ranging from multinational audit work to top level management. This includes global experience in South Africa, the USA, Europe and Australia.

He has a diverse spectrum of experience and knowledge, from all levels of audit and controls work, to successfully building a business from its early stages through to exit. Rebekah Butler

Rebekah has spent most of her time working for retailers, magazines and fashion-based start-ups. Recently finishing her degree in Fashion-business and French, she has interned for David Jones, SCOUT and Vogue specialising in sustainability and trend forecasting.

Peter Crewe-Brown

CFO - Sydney

Peter is passionate about helping businesses to grow, by implementing change through focus on people, strategy, execution and cash/profitability.

His areas of specialisation include virtual CFO services, strategic and business plan development & implementation, coaching and Advisory Board facilitation.

Peter has 35+ years' business and leadership experience as a CFO, Business Advisor and Coach. He is a Chartered Accountant and his most recent corporate role was as part-time CFO for two years for the Australian Paralympic Committee - to late 2017. During his tenure, the Executive team dramatically turned around the performance of the business.

In his earlier corporate career, Peter gained extensive experience in South Africa, the UK, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand, working for the likes of Ford Financial Services, AT&T, Compaq, Toyota and the Australian Paralympic Committee, amongst many others.

Peter runs a successful Boardroom business group that meets every fortnight, focussed on learning, collaboration and implementation.

There is an appeal for our very top talent to work on a part success fee basis and we review this case by case. If the potential is there, we will likely take the challenge.
